Welcome back to Inside 25/8 Fintech.

Every week, we use this space to step back from short-term market noise and look at the broader mechanics of building a sustainable, execution-driven business. This week, we connect three powerful themes that defined my recent journey through Vienna: why Austria needs a country-wide mindset shift toward location optimism and digital asset infrastructure, how true serendipity unfolds when you stay active in the arena, and why upgrading from Mobile Office 1.0 to a mobile-capable AI team is the ultimate lever for executive freedom.

Fueling Location Optimism: The DAAA Summit and the Long Breath 🇦🇹

Attending the DAAA | Digital Assets Association Austria Annual Summit 2026 in Vienna was a powerful reminder of what happens when visionaries, builders, and regulatory minds gather in one room.

A special thank you goes to Walter Moesenbacher for the outstanding organization, leadership, and the insightful exchange afterward. Bringing key players together to shape the future of digital assets and financial infrastructure is precisely what the European ecosystem needs right now.

However, looking at the broader economic landscape, one thing is abundantly clear: if we want to ensure our region does not lose touch with global markets in North America and Asia, we cannot rely solely on a few isolated pioneer companies. We need a country-wide mindset shift - a true "doer mentality" across all sectors in Austria and Europe.

We must remain realistic: systemic transformation and building world-class infrastructure is not a sprint. It requires a long breath, ironclad patience, and unglamourous execution in the engine room. But waiting for perfect conditions or endless political debates is a guaranteed recipe for mediocrity. The time to build is now.

Connecting the Dots: How Momentum Attracts Serendipity 🤝

Taking a selfie on a Flixbus might not look like a traditional executive suite, but for me, public transport has become an indispensable mobile workspace. While others waste energy sitting in traffic, I use travel time to process deals, align with partners, and steer our operations.

Looking back at the past days in Vienna, Steve Jobs’ famous concept of "Connecting the Dots" played out in real time. In entrepreneurship, there are no pure coincidences - only momentum created by staying open and showing up.

Just a week prior, a conversation with Kambis Kohansal Vajargah (Head of Startup-Services at WKÖ) led to his strong recommendation to attend the DAAA | Digital Assets Association Austria Summit. Two days before the event, a Wednesday alignment call came together that had actually been recommended to me weeks prior. When I mentioned I would be in Vienna on Thursday and Friday, what was meant to be a simple coffee chat turned into something far bigger.

On Friday morning, we met for coffee and went straight to meet another key partner. That led to an unexpected invitation to a joint lunch that fitted our network perfectly, followed by a highly engaging video call in the afternoon.

I spent the entire day connecting with outstanding people, having meaningful conversations, and building real relationships. None of this was planned on a rigid calendar. It happened because momentum attracts momentum.

Mobile Office 2.0: Directing Your AI Team On the Go 🚀

Back in my home office, looking at my desk setup - curved 27" monitors, studio microphone, full operational visibility - this is where my deep focus happens.

Over the years, I have seen many founders force themselves into rigid productivity formulas. Mythen like the "5 AM Club" or copy-pasted morning routines sound great in self-help books, but blind imitation usually leads to frustration. True productivity is never about following someone else's playbook; it is about engineering a system that fits your own rhythm, speed, and mental clarity.

Working on the road was never the issue for me. I always had my laptop with me - that was Mobile Office 1.0. But you were still sitting there in every free minute, manually typing every email and processing every document yourself.

The real breakthrough - Mobile Office 2.0 - happened over the past few weeks when I made my custom AI setup fully mobile-capable.

Today, traveling doesn't mean hitting pause on operations or getting buried in manual admin work. By directing my personal AI team on the go, summaries, preparation, and workflows happen in real time in the background. I no longer type every single detail; I conduct the system as a director.

Most importantly, it removes mental pressure. Knowing that no work gets stuck in the pipeline keeps my mind 100% present for the real-world relationships and strategic conversations right in front of me.

Find the setup that fuels your own performance, stay open to serendipity, and build with a long-term horizon.

Stay focused and trust the process.

Your Thomas
