Welcome back to Inside 25/8 Fintech.

Every week, we use this space to step out of the daily transactional noise and look at the core principles that drive long-term business. This week, we connect three threads that might seem separate at first glance but are deeply connected at their root: the true nature of authenticity in the age of automation, the mathematics of sustainable high performance, and why real builders will always choose the messy reality of the engine room over the comfort of the sidelines.

The Digital Lektor and the Soul of the Message ✍️

A peer of mine, Boris Manhart , recently shared an outstanding perspective about his book Human Signal: AI detectors are failing because they measure word sequences, not lived experience. They hunt for superficial patterns, completely missing the actual soul of the message.

It got me thinking about what "authenticity" actually means today.

Back in November 2009, I recorded my very first audio newsletter. In January 2015, I began publishing weekly vlogs documenting my entrepreneurial journey. Over the years, this constant, raw documentation grew into a massive archive of lived experiences.

Did I maintain that intensity entirely on my own?

Absolutely not. I had a fantastic team in the background. My employees took my raw footage, edited the videos, designed the thumbnails, and drafted social media snippets. Without their execution, maintaining that consistency would have been impossible.

But does that make the content any less "mine"? Of course not. Every single thought, every lesson, and every strategy came straight from my lived reality.

Think of it like writing a book. When I wrote “you just gotta DO IT.”, the thoughts and stories were 100% mine, but I still had a professional editor to proofread, polish, and bring structure to the final manuscript. The editor was the formatting engine - the soul was mine.

Using AI today is no different. Modern AI tools do not replace your brain; they act as the ultimate high-speed digital editor. The machine handles the structure, but the scars, the strategy, and the lived experience are 100% real. When you actually have something valuable to say, modern tools and great support make content creation incredibly fun.

Sustainable Recovery and the "Suder-Modus" 🏎️

But to have something valuable to say, you must survive the journey. And to survive, you have to understand a fundamental law of mechanics: no engine runs at maximum RPM forever without scheduled maintenance.

High performance is not a linear, permanent state. Yet, in our DACH region, we have built a comfort-zone culture that celebrates burnout while criticizing recovery.

We saw this play out perfectly when a prominent national soccer coach was heavily criticized for taking a short vacation after a major tournament. The public outcry was massive - and highly revealing. It shows a toxic mix of envy, constant complaining (the German "Suder-Modus"), and a severe misunderstanding of what sustainable high performance actually requires.

If you are working with maximum intensity in the engine room of your company, you MUST regenerate. Rest is not a sign of weakness; it is a strategic investment in your operational longevity.

We need to step away from this sideline critique where people find it easier to judge the steps of others instead of taking responsibility for their own lives. Stop analyzing other people's resting phases. Focus on your own launch pad.

The Unyielding Urge to Build 🏗️

Recently, a contact on LinkedIn left a very kind comment on one of my posts: “Thomas, you should consider becoming a speaker if you aren't already.”

While I highly appreciate the compliment - and indeed, I have stood on many stages over the last two decades - the truth is that speaking has never been my destination. It is simply the byproduct of an unyielding urge.

The urge to build.

If you carry this builder DNA in you, you cannot just sit back and talk. You have to step into the engine room, carry the risk, and get your hands dirty.

That is exactly why my team and I didn't just launch another generic financial app or buy cheap white-label software for SKYTRADERS. We did it the hard way. We locked ourselves in the machinery, built our proprietary broker engine from scratch, developed our own software, registered our US Hedge Fund with the CFTC/NFA, and structured a global fintech holding across LU, AT, US, CY, PL, and HK.

We chose this path because true company value is created through proprietary infrastructure, not marketing hype.

If you want to move people, inspire them, or build an empire, you cannot do it by being a bystander. You have to lead by example, create genuine value, and live your message.

When your action matches your ambition, the right doors open naturally.

You just gotta do it.
